Coaching is a process that takes place in the context of a relationship between the coach and the coachee. It can significantly improve the performance of the coachee in a number of areas, e.g. responding positively to change, gaining insight into challenging situations, developing new skills, taking on greater leadership responsibility, overcoming obstacles, building stronger relationships, handling stress, learning quickly, stakeholder management, etc.
At Leadenhall Consulting we are typically coaching in the following scenarios:
This is one-to-one coaching of executives in leadership roles. We will generally start the coaching assignment by gathering feedback from key stakeholders and completing a Hogan assessment. This data is used to establish an objective starting point and understand the focus areas for the coaching. An assignment generally extends over a 6 to 9-month period, sometimes longer. Leadenhall Consulting coaches will ensure that there is a clear set of goals agreed at the outset and will provide updates as required by the client, whilst maintaining confidentiality.
This is coaching senior individuals who are in a new role and/or a new organisation. Clearly this is a time when a senior new joiner is under a lot of pressure to perform strongly, and quickly. A high profile new hire is a key investment and success in the first year is critical. If a Hogan assessment has been completed during the selection process it can be put to good use by creating a robust onboarding plan, identifying strengths and potential areas of challenge such that steps can be taken to address issues before they materialise.
