Randal Tajer

Randal has worked extensively in Financial Services and general industry as both a practitioner and a consultant. He has led HR and specialist functions with a particular emphasis on Performance and Reward. Having worked in Finance early in his career, Randal helps build strong linkage between the financial performance of an organisation and the performance review and compensation processes. Supporting these activities with strong analytics and data management can lead to more effective HR decision-making.

Over his career Randal has led the global roll-out of several new and upgraded HRIS platforms — including Cloud applications. Working with clients to build a strong approach to data quality and management, Randal believes HR must provide the ‘golden source’ of people information for the business. With this strong base of facts, HR can contribute to strategic and operational decisions with timely and accurate reporting and analytics. Most organisations are able to utilise only a small portion of available people information in a meaningful way; building a practical data model can ensure better understanding of your people resources.

Randal believes that mergers, acquisitions, IPOs and other significant business events provide an excellent opportunity to improve the contribution and operation of HR to the business. These transitions are often chaotic, but as other aspects of the business model are being changed, changes to HR processes and practices can be more easily addressed than during periods of relative stability. Maintaining operational continuity while upgrading overall HR capability is another area where Randal has developed expertise based on numerous experiences.


Randal is a dual US/UK citizen and has lived and worked in New York, Paris and Zurich in addition to London. He has spent significant time working in Tokyo, Hong Kong and India in his consulting and Global Management roles. He enjoys travel, photography and is an enthusiastic home cook.
